1、 The use of polishing wheels


In the entire polishing process, the importance of the polishing wheel goes without saying, as it is used to complete any surface treatment. Sandblasting, peeling, deburring, matte polishing, mirror polishing, etc. With its importance, there are also many prominent issues.


1. Select polishing wheels according to different polishing materials, and use different polishing wheels for different metals. For example, during the initial polishing of stainless steel, a hemp wheel or an oil hemp wheel can be used. The hardness of the hemp wheel should be high enough to correspond to the polishing effect of the stainless steel surface; However, copper products cannot use such hard polishing wheels. Copper is too soft, and polishing wheels that are too hard are prone to deformation. Currently, wind wheels are generally used.


2. Choose a polishing wheel according to the polishing requirements. As mentioned earlier, polishing requires different levels such as sanding, matte, and mirror finish. Generally, sanding is done using sand belts and Chiba wheels, but in special cases, sponge wheels and hemp wheels may be used. The matte effect is achieved using hemp rope wheels, hemp wheels, thousand silk wheels, etc. Mirror effect stainless steel generally uses cloth wheels, and softer ones can use pearl cloth wheels.

2、 The issue of using polishing wax


Insiders know that simply using a polishing wheel for dry polishing only damages the product, because we need to apply a layer of chemical agent - polishing wax (polishing paste) - on the polishing wheel while polishing. And there are also many types of polishing wax, how can we distinguish and choose? The use of polishing is generally determined by the polishing effect and the material of the polishing product. In initial casting, ordinary white wax is generally used for stainless steel, yellow wax or red wax is used for zinc alloy and aluminum alloy, and purple wax or blue wax can be used for 304 stainless steel. In precision polishing, green wax is generally used, but if higher requirements are needed, fifth grade white wax can be used.


3、 Fixture issues


In the process of automatic polishing, we often encounter the problem of product fixation. There are various types of products in the polishing industry. In addition to commonly used products such as round tubes, square tubes, and flat plates that do not require fixtures and have standard machinery for polishing, some irregular or small products require fixing before polishing. Fixtures for fixed products are called fixtures in polishing equipment and are generally fixed on mechanical workbenches. They mainly include vacuum suction fixtures, magnetic suction fixtures, and general fixtures.


If irregular products are polished without fixtures, they may fly off, which is a major safety precaution in polishing production. How to customize a suitable fixture can have a huge impact on the efficiency of polishing production. For example, when using a flat polishing machine, fixtures need to be installed on the workbench of the flat polishing machine for small flat products. Generally, vacuum suction fixtures can be used for flat products, and magnetic suction fixtures can be used for iron products. However, the manufacturing of fixtures generally needs to be customized according to the shape of the polishing product. In the design process of polishing machinery, it is necessary to coordinate as much as possible to ensure that the fixtures fit the machinery and the product.
