What are the precautions for removing burrs with an electrochemical deburring machine?

Using an electrochemical deburring machine for deburring, the electrodes used may vary depending on the workpiece and deburring location, meaning different electrodes should be used for each workpiece, and there is a one-to-one correspondence between workpieces and electrodes. Using the workpiece that needs to be deburred as the anode and the tool electrode as the cathode, when a certain pressure electrolyte passes through the narrow gap between the burrs on the workpiece and the specially designed tool electrode, and an electrolytic voltage is applied for a short period of time, the current is concentrated in the burrs or edges of the workpiece, and the current density is also high. Therefore, the burrs are quickly removed and the edges are rounded.

In the process of electrochemical deburring, the workpiece and the tool electrode are relatively fixed and stationary, which belongs to the electrochemical machining method of fixed tool cathode. The metal contact between the anode (workpiece) and the cathode (electrode) can cause a short circuit, leading to damage to the electrode and workpiece. Therefore, it is necessary to make the following regulations on the size and direction of burrs on the workpiece for the deburring machine:

1. The length of burrs parallel to the electrode shall not exceed 0.8mm;

2. The burr thickness shall not exceed 0.15mm.

3. For parts, the main and auxiliary cross holes must be manually hinged,

4. Make the burr direction parallel to the axis of the hole to avoid and reduce possible short circuits in the electrode, as well as to minimize wear on the electrode insulation layer.

5. The variety and position of the processed workpiece must be consistent with the electrode used, achieving "specialized use", otherwise it will cause damage to the workpiece, electrode, and processing power supply, which should be highly valued.

6. The detached chips and dirt adsorbed on the workpiece can also cause short-circuit faults, processing defects, and poor conductive contact during processing. Therefore, the workpiece must be cleaned before processing.

7. After deburring the workpiece, there is electrolyte adhering to the surface of the part, which needs to be cleaned and treated with rust prevention.

We specialize in independently developing CNC high-pressure deburring cleaning machines, which provide high-precision and accurate cleaning for crankshafts, automotive steering pump valve bodies, automatic transmission valve bodies, construction machinery hydraulic components, and more. A one-stop service system from design and production to sales, with products sold in Japan and around the world. Through NC control, high-pressure shooting cleaning is used to remove burrs, chips, and dirt. Taking simplicity of operation and ease of use as the primary starting point, we have thought of various rich changes and are committed to cutting-edge technology to improve customer productivity.
